The Merchant’s House is delighted to present mezzo-soprano Sophie Dicks singing a spirit-lifting mix of ballads, opera, musical theatre and toe-tappers for your enjoyment on Valentine’s Day.
Sophie is an alumni of the RWCMD Opera school, the RNCM and the RCM and made her debut with Welsh National Opera in 2019 singing Vera Boronel in Menotti’s The Consul. As well as opera and musical theatre, she has made numerous concert performances including Beethoven’s Mass in C, Dvořák’s Stabat Mater, Handel’s Messiah, Duruflé’s Requiem and Rutter’s Feel the Spirit. Sophie teaches singing at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama focussing mainly on pop, musical theatre and, of course, Classical. Her popular repertoire ranges from Adele, Eva Cassidy and Queen to Petula Clarke, Amy Winehouse and Shirley Bassey. We are in for a treat this Valentine’s Day.
