On Sunday 5th February at 7.30pm we will be welcoming the Fibonacci Quartet to St Peter’s Church.
They are: Luna De Mol and Kryštof Kohout – violin, Elliot Kempton – viola and Kosta Popović – cello. I do hope you will be able to come to their recital.
Their programme will be :-

- “Two pieces for string quartet” by Shostakovich as an encore.
The Fibonacci String Quartet was formed in September 2019 and consists of students of David Takeno and others at the Guildhall School ch Music and Drama in London. It is an international ensemble, bringing together Czech, Belgian, Welsh and Montenegrin nationalities. The quartet is coached and mentored by Krysia Osostowicz, a renowned violinist and chamber musician.
In addition to their studies in London, they were accepted to the renowned Dutch String Quartet Academy (NSKA), and invited to be a part of the “ProQuartet” organisation in Paris.
In March 2020 they won both 1st prize and audience prize at the Beethoven Competition for Young Musicians in London. Later that same month they also won the 1st prize at the Saint James Chamber Music competition. This prize included a concert at the famous Saint James Piccadilly church in London.
In December 2021 they won the First Prize at the International “Triomphe de l’Art” Chamber Music Competition in Brussels, as well as the “Peermusic, Hambourg” Special Prize and the “International Association Dimitri Shostakovich, Paris” Special Prize.
Since their formation they have participated in numerous masterclasses and projects with a.o. Adrian Brendel, the Gould Piano Trio, the Endellion Quartet, the Bozzini Quartet, and the Castalian Quartet.
They regularly perform internationally, including the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Italy and Montenegro.
There is no doubt that we are in for a really wonderful “musical treat”!
