Marlborough-based investment management firm Brewin Dolphin has been confirmed as series sponsor for the next three Spring and Summer concert series at Wiltshire Music Centre in Bradford on Avon.
The series starts with a concert by the National Youth Jazz Orchestra, a hotbed for emerging British jazz talent.
The executive director of Wiltshire Music Centre, Clare Jack, said: “In the current difficult economic climate, maintaining support for the Centre’s work is critical.
“Every year we need to raise £200,000 to put on the range of high quality international concerts that our audiences expect. We are delighted that Brewin Dolphin wants to support this track record over a sustained period.”
Wiltshire Music Centre, the purpose-built 300 seat concert hall, is recognised nationally for its high quality concert programme, which attracts Grammy and Mercury Award-winning musicians performing a wide mix of classical, folk, jazz and world music.
The new season includes international guitarist Xufei Young, the European Union Chamber Orchestra with BBC Young Musician 2010 string section winner Callum Smart, the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, the Pasadena Roof Orchestra and celebrated tenor Mark Padmore with Britten Sinfonia.
The Centre attracts more than 70,000 visitors and 90 concerts a year and, during the 13 years it has been open, has built partnerships with many local, regional and national businesses who not only sponsor seasons and concerts but also a variety of education and community projects.
With a focus on private client fund management, ranging from small collective investment based portfolios through to bespoke portfolios for individuals, Self Invested Personal Pensions and charities, Brewin Dolphin’s Marlborough office is also actively involved in local life.
Myles Palmer, divisional manager, said: “Brewin Dolphin is delighted to be sponsoring Wiltshire Music Centre’s Spring and Summer series. We have long been a big supporter of arts and culture in the region and we are therefore thrilled to be involved in this forthcoming series of exciting concerts.”
