A new school of languages has opened on Marlborough High Street to offer tuition in Spanish, French, Dutch and German. The school has been founded by Spanish-born Maria Gonzalez and Belgian-born Sophie Van de Woestijne, both experienced language teachers.
“We will help you learn or improve your Spanish, French, Dutch and German in truly interactive and fun lessons. We aim to give our students – whether pre-schoolers, school pupils or adult learners – a chance to really immerse themselves in the language and understand a little about different cultures.”
Maria is planning to run a book club in Spanish for more advanced speakers. They are also running short courses based on specific themes, such as language for holidays, or for older people who want to exercise their brains with some language learning.
“We offer a range of services to suit language development at any age and stage, in small groups or one-to-one. You might be a parent looking for lessons for pre-schoolers or primary age children.
“You might want support for your son or daughter taking GCSEs or A-levels. Perhaps you want lessons for yourself, either to learn a language from scratch or improve. We have courses for beginners, improvers and advanced.”
“We use a proven and highly effective blend of practical teaching methods, exercises and games, and innovative cultural experiences.” Both Maria and Sophie have extensive experience in teaching their native language over many years. Maria came to the UK nearly twenty years ago, moving to the Marlborough area nine years ago. After having her two children, she began her teaching and tutoring career and never looked back.
Sophie, who speaks five languages, moved to the UK in 1994 and to Wiltshire in 2000. After having her three children she began teaching languages in primary and nursery schools around Marlborough.
