Cotswold Surgical Partners have opened a brand new plastic surgery and skin cancer diagnostic and treatment centre in Royal Wootton Bassett. The centre was officially opened on Saturday 31st July by Prof Andrew Graves of Bath University. The team pledge to provide ‘Quality Care, Locally Delivered.’
Cotswold Surgical Partners treat skin cancer, and suspected skin cancer, as well as other chronic skin conditions such as Rheumatic Dermatology and Complex Medical Dermatology. The facility consists of two fully equipped day surgery theatres and five clinic/treatment rooms fitted out to a high standard to provide both NHS and private patients a locally delivered service. The centre is well placed to treat patients from across North Wiltshire, South Gloucester, Bath, Oxfordshire and Berkshire.
Directors and Plastic Surgeons Nick Reynolds and Umraz Khan say “We have cared for patients across the region for many years, passionately believing that they must be at the centre of the service to receive the right support and care, at what can be a very difficult time.
We believe that now is the right time to increase access to these services so anyone living with known or suspected skin cancer can be seen more locally and be confident to get a highly personal quality service.”
Consultant Dermatologist Dr Thomas Millard says, “We offer timely and effective treatments and have ongoing contracts with Wiltshire and BANES CCG (Clinical Commissioning Group). We also carry out many skin cancer procedures for the Royal United Hospital in Bath and now for the Great Western Hospital in Swindon. We believe this service will help improve ease and speed of access for patients, particularly as we have already been approached by local providers to see if we can help due to Covid delays they are experiencing.”
Practice Manager Shawn Warren-Willcox commented,“We really enjoyed meeting not only with local residents and those who are interested in joining us, but also GP’s and other health care workers who wished to find out more about us. Everyone who attended was given a tour of the centre and was really excited to learn about the new service in Royal Wootton Bassett, and explore the new jobs the centre will provide.”
Cotswold Surgical Partners are in unit number 13 on the Interface Business Park in Royal Wootton Bassett and hope to start welcoming patients during September via NHS Choose and Book.
