SUMMARY:Anna Simmons exhibition at The Little Gallery
DESCRIPTION:Paddington from Above I\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCome and experience a selection of paintings explore subtle interplay between light and darkness\, and the quiet beauty embedded within everyday life. \n\n\n\nUrban and interior settings become sites of reflection and transformation in Simmons’ work. By drawing attention to these moments\, she reveals a gentle\, often unnoticed beauty\, encouraging a slower\, more attentive way of seeing. \n\n\n\nAs Simmons explains\, “We fear the dark\, but if we really have the courage to explore the dark times and accept them\, we will gradually begin to see that we cannot have light without the dark. They really are one thing. And the most ordinary places\, the bus stop\, the escalator\, have a beauty of their own\, if we are awake to see it.”

SUMMARY:'Victoria' at the Watermill Theatre
DESCRIPTION:Osborne House 1901. As Victoria faces the final days of her reign\, she clings to her diaries\, the carefully kept record of a life defined by love\, duty and profound loss. Into this certainty comes her younger self\, forcing the older Victoria to confront memories she’s chosen to bury and truths she’s decided to forget. \n\n\n\nVictoria and Albert are celebrated as one of history’s great love stories. Victoria had nine children with Albert\, and after his premature death at 42\, she spent the rest of her life mourning her ‘dearest angel’. At least that is the story told in her diaries. But does writing something make it true? Looking back at a young queen\, this new play tells the story of a woman pregnant for most of her 20s and 30s\, gradually surrendering her strength and authority to her controlling husband\, and growing increasingly lonely in her crumbling marriage.
