L to R: Lucia Pupilli (Pewsey Primary), Di Crocker (St Katharine's) and Jacki Pattenden (Marlborough and Pewsey Music Cluster Co ordinator)Nearly £400 has been raised for Wiltshire Wildlife Trust at two concerts given by the Marlborough & Pewsey Music Schools Cluster, supported by Wiltshire Music Connect (the music education hub for Wiltshire).

A choir from each of the seventeen schools in the Cluster, fifteen primary schools and two secondary schools performed at two separate concerts. The first was on March 21 at St. John’s Theatre on the Hill, and the second on March 22 at Pewsey Vale School. Over two hundred and fifty students participated.

The theme for the performances was ‘Care for the Environment’ and songs performed included : Beautiful World, Drop in the Ocean, Life is a Wonderful Thing, Be Cool. I am the Earth, We are the Children.

The money raised was from a retiring collection at each of the concerts. At a special assembly at Great Bedwyn School on Friday July 13, Jackie Pattenden, Marlborough & Pewsey Music Cluster Coordinatorsaid, “The staff and pupils in all the schools worked extremely hard to learn all the songs and produce two very well received concerts attended by family and friends. It was great to see all the pupils and staff from the different schools, coming together and working so hard to produce two wonderful evenings of entertainment.”

“It seemed appropriate that, given the theme of the concerts, we should give the money raised to Wiltshire Wildlife Trust, who look after the environment we live in.”
