St John’s Academy is top of Wiltshire schools for GCSE results
St John’s Academy is listed as the top non-selective state school in Wiltshire in the schools’ performance tables published by the government this week. The tables show that pupils at St John’s made well above average progress between the end of Key Stage 2 and the end of Key Stage 4 (GCSE).
The score, known as Progress 8, is based on results in up to eight qualifications, which include English, maths, and three English Baccalaureate qualifications including sciences, computer science, history, geography and languages.
Ian Tucker, Principal of St John’s tweeted, “St John’s is the top performing non-selective state school in Wiltshire for GCSE’s. Well done to everyone involved.”
These results follow on from the 2019 A-level success which placed St. John’s fourth in the county out of all selective, non-selective, private and state schools.
