Marlborough Town Hall will be filled with the magical sounds of Christmas on the evening of Thursday 20 December when a group of experienced singers stage ‘Sing a Song of Christmas’ to raise money for Manton Village Hall Refurbishment Fund.
Manton Resident, Judith Sharp, with her singing partner, Ray Dance, have invited ten talented friends to join them on stage to provide a festive evening’s entertainment. They will be accompanied by a four-piece band.
Judith and Ray have been singing together for 35 years, raising many thousands of pounds for local charities through their annual shows at the Arts Centre in Swindon and by performing in cabaret. This joyous show will include a wide variety of Christmas music, from classical and traditional to popular. As well as solos and close harmony singing, the evening will include performances from a professional violinist and a champion dancer. Refreshments will be available.
“Manton’s Village Hall is a valuable and well-used facility for the Manton community” said concert organiser, Roger Grant. ”It is used by many groups, some who would find it difficult to run if the Hall wasn’t there or didn’t have acceptable facilities. It needs work and money spent on it to keep it going and in good condition and we are all indebted to Judith and her team for their great support in creating this concert” he added.
Tickets, priced at £10 for adults and £5 for under 16s are available from The Whitehorse Bookshop, Sound Knowledge or directly from organiser Roger Grant on 01672 516235.
