Marlborough’s Waitrose shoppers will be in for their own Gogglebox experience this coming Friday, 1 December when stars of the show, Giles and Mary will pop in to Waitrose to sign copies of their book ‘The Diaries of Two Nobodies’ between 5 and 7pm.
Giles and Mary live nearby just outside Oare and the Marlborough Waitrose is almost their spiritual home, particularly so for Mary who once joked that ‘she would like to have her ashes scattered in Waitrose’. Thankfully a book signing will be somewhat more amenable!
In ‘The Diary of Two Nobodies’ readers will discover first-hand what occurs when a man who sees himself as a cross between Mr Bean and Basil Fawlty shares his life with a woman who identifies closely with the Queen.
Fact? Fiction? Find out for yourselves this Friday. You can be the judge of that when meeting Giles and Mary in person in the same way that they are the judges of any TV programme that they are watching. But ‘The Diary of Two Nobodies’ is apparently more true to life as any good reality television should be, comprising a diary of their lives across the past year.
