St John’s students top of the South West in 'Race for the Line' Rocket Car competition

St John's Year 7 students at the Regional final of Race for the Line at RNAS YeoviltonSt John's Year 7 students at the Regional final of Race for the Line at RNAS YeoviltonTwo teams of St John’s Year 7 students gained first and second place at the Regional Final of the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) Rocket Car competition called 'Race for the Line'.  They will now go on to compete in the National Final which will be held at the Imperial War Museum in Duxford on 27 June.

New Mayor promises an exciting year ahead for the town

Marlborough's new Mayor, Cllr Mervyn Hall accompanied by the new Deputy Mayor, Cllr Mark Cooper, the Bishop of Ramsbury, The Right Revd Dr Andrew Rumsey, The High Sherriff of Wiltshire David Scott and Mrs Letitia Scott, Deputy Lieutenant Dr David Hemery with Town Councillors assembled on the steps of the Town HallMarlborough's new Mayor, Cllr Mervyn Hall accompanied by the new Deputy Mayor, Cllr Mark Cooper, the Bishop of Ramsbury, The Right Revd Dr Andrew Rumsey, The High Sherriff of Wiltshire David Scott and Mrs Letitia Scott, Deputy Lieutenant Dr David Hemery with Town Councillors assembled on the steps of the Town HallMervyn Hall is Marlborough’s 709th town mayor.  He was sworn in at the Mayor Making Ceremony on Monday May 13 in front of an audience of councillors, former mayors, community representatives, family, friends, Deputy Lieutenant Dr David Hemery, The High Sherriff of Wiltshire David Scott and Mrs Letitia Scott, the Mayor of Swindon Councillor Junab Ali and the Bishop of Ramsbury, The Right Revd Dr. Andrew Rumsey.  Councillor Mark Cooper was elected as Deputy Mayor.

Marlborough's next generation leads the way to bring home the dangers of climate change to everyone

Climate justice.  When do we want it?  Now!"  was the chant that reverberated throughout Marlborough's High Street earlier today (Saturday 11 May) as several hundred Climate Extinction demonstrators, led by the next generation marched up and down to bring the dangers of the climate predicament home to the people of Marlborough.
