Marlborough web agency harvests awards in Cambridgeshire competition

Jo Waltham and web designer Leanne Stevenson with Nazima Pathan and Pierre Corne of Cambridge Food CollectiveJo Waltham and web designer Leanne Stevenson with Nazima Pathan and Pierre Corne of Cambridge Food CollectiveA Marlborough web agency has picked up two awards in a competition designed to find the best of the web in Cambridgeshire.

Elcot Business Park-based Callia Web won the accolades in the Cambridgeshire Digital Awards for a website it had designed for a client in the county.

The Cambridge Food Collective is a new community venture selling locally sourced artisan food produce all under one website.

Freelance food writer Nazima Pathan asked Callia Web to build a website that would allow different local producers to both register and upload products, as well as a scalable e-commerce solution that fitted her delivery process.

Customers are able to fill their online basket with their favourite products from the collective of local producers.

The items are then picked, packed and delivered to the hub and then the customer chooses to either collect it themselves or have it delivered to their home.

Callia Web’s director Jo Waltham said: “It’s wonderful news for our agency, and a fantastic start for the Cambridge Food Collective, launched at the beginning of September.”

Awarding Callia Web a gold for Website: Lifestyle and Culture and a silver in the Website: Small Business category, judges said: “We're always excited to see initiatives which champion local business via fresh thinking.

“This website is a prime example of that community spirit coupled with a clear and effective website.”

The Cambridge Food Collective website will now go forward to the Digital Awards Champions competition in February 2017, where the gold winners from six different counties in the South East will compete for the overall prize.
