HR expert gives advice on caring for employees who are carers

Avril PorterAvril PorterBusiness leaders are being invited to explore ways in which they can support employees who are caring long-term for a seriously ill relative.

A networking meeting hosted at Savernake View nursing home in Marlborough by Carer Support Wiltshire on Thursday, November 10 will be addressed by Avril Porter of The Human Resource.

Avril has over 30 years’ experience in the Human Resources profession: ranging from in-house start-up HR functions for medium sized businesses, through an HR management career in global corporates and professional services organisations.

“For employees juggling a demanding full-time job alongside caring for a seriously ill family member, doing everything well enough can build up quite unmanageable stress levels - and something has to give,” said Avril.

“We'll explore the many ways employers can step outside the conventional Nine to Five In the Office pattern without damaging the business - and really give practical support to their caring employees through a difficult time.”

The event runs from 7.30am to 9am. Attendance costs £6 and includes a buffet breakfast.
